On January 12th, 2010, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Rockler Companies, Inc. announced that the domestic led lamps have been implemented the voluntary recall.
This recall involves Rockler LED lamps that can be replaced with a spotlight or zoom shade cover,whose product number 26429 (spotlight cover) or 27017 (enlarge shade) marked on the packaging. The LED lamps were sell from October 3,2009 on the Rockler Woodworking stores across the United States and other hardware stores, priced at 60 U.S. dollars / set.
The number of recalled products is about 2,200. Reason for the recall is the power cord inside the lamp is defective, the battery box easily leads to overheating and explosions, posing the risk of fire or burns to the user. Up to now, Rockler Companies company has not received any reports of incidents.
To this, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission advised consumers to immediately stop using the recalled LED lamps, and contact with the Rockler Companies for free repair.
